2024 Application Timeline

Please Note: The B.S. in Data Science Deadline has changed to March 31, 2024.

For the upcoming 2024-25 academic year, the timeline is compressed to apply for the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Data Science degree.  All students will need to submit in ConnectCarolina by March 31, 2024. (Please note the extended deadline)

There is no deadline for students interested in the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Data Science degree. The form that students will fill out is to gauge interest and does not declare the degree.  Students interested in declaring the B.A. in Data Science for their major need to see their advisor to make this change.

Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Data Science
March 1- Application for the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Data Science opens pending UNC System approval. Go to Connect Carolina - Go to Student Center Apply for major/minor changes Select B.S. in Data Science from drop down menu In 24 Hours: In 24-48 hours you will receive a link to the form sent to your UNC email address. Open link and complete form. Submission Confirmation Final Day to Apply: March 20. The final day to request the form in ConnectCarolina is March 31. Link to form sent to UNC email address within 24-48 hours and must be completed by 11:59 PM on April 2. Acceptance Emails: Status update sent to UNC email address. Please “accept” your admission decision in ConnectCarolina. To declare B.S. in Data Science as your primary major and receive priority registration for DATA courses.

Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Data Science
March 1: Expression of interest form for the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Data Science opens at 7AM pending UNC System Approval. Access Interest Form: Navigate to go.unc.edu/BADataSciInterest and fill out the form. Completion of Form: You will complete the form to assist the collect data for planning purposes. Submission Completion: Completing the form does not declare the B.A. in Data Science as your major. Form to Remain Open: The expression of interest form will remain open on an ongoing basis. Declare Major with Advisor: Please see your advisor to declare major. Form is intended to collect data for planning purposes.
