Computing Requirements
These are the general computing requirements for the master of applied data science.
You will need a Mac or PC computer that has 8GB RAM memory, a dual-core processor (64-bit), and at least 64 GB of available hard drive space
- If you’re using a Mac computer, it needs to run macOS 10.9 Mavericks or later
- If you’re using a PC, it must be running Windows 8.1 or later.
Additional Requirements for Live Sessions
- A monitor that is compatible with your laptop (preferred)
- Webcam
- Microphone
- Headphones
- High-speed internet connection (We recommend a download speed of at least 5 MB and an upload speed of at least 10 MB.)
If you do not already own a laptop and wish to purchase one, the Carolina Computing Initiative through UNC-Chapel Hill offers multiple laptops and tablets at a special rate and payment plan. Students may view these options at the Student Stores CCI website.
